In recent years there has been an increasing number of highly publicized dog-bite incidents relating to children. The leading cause for children under 12 years of age to be admitted to emergency rooms is a dog bite. Most dog bites are from a dog that the child knows, either their own, a friend's pet or a neighbor's pet.
The program we offer is FREE to schools, religious organizations, scout groups, businesses, etc. The program shows chidren how to act around dogs and cats and what to do to prevent being injured by them. We first show a 30 minute video which was produced for children 12 years old and younger. We then have the children show us what they learned, have a question and answer period, and then allow the children to meet our dogs using the techniques they have learned. We have several hand-outs for the children to take home and share with other family members.
You can schedule a program by calling (816) 228-4567.
